Hope - Brave to Rebuild

On 24 February 2022, Ukraine was invaded by Russia.

Since then, more than 13 million people have been forced to leave their country, including 5 million internally displaced persons and 8 million refugees who have sought shelter in Europe.

As of July 2022, of the 8 million refugees in Europe, more than 3 million have decided to return to their country while others are unable to do so due to the lack of safe housing and the availability of basic services such as healthcare.

The "Hope - Brave to Rebuild" project aims to support the reintegration process of refugees and internally displaced persons into their daily lives. Specifically, the term "vulnerable population" encompasses families, elderly individuals, women, and children who require immediate assistance.

Since the beginning of the conflict, the Hope Ukraine Foundation has been involved in several areas:

  • clearing rubble from public buildings and affected homes;

  • restoration work;

  • “winterisation” which involves preparing for winter weather conditions;

  • assistance to residents in liberated areas;

  • distribution of generators and communication hubs;

  • establishment of volunteer networks in the most conflict-affected areas.
